The Journey Towards New Quality Testing
Every VAIO product carries the dedication and challenges of the people behind its creation. Some of these behind-the-scenes stories are captured in the comic series VAIO Monogatari.
One installment, “The Journey Towards New Quality Testing,” follows how customer feedback helped uncover the root of a problem—leading to the development of a new quality test through repeated trial and error.
Another, “The Development of the Unprecedented VAIO Vision+® Cover Stand,” tells the story behind the creation of the innovative cover stand for VAIO’s new mobile display—a process marked by persistent effort and setbacks.
As long as there are customers—the true heroes of these stories—VAIO Monogatari will continue to unfold.
Comment from the Manga Artist:
Working on this manga gave me a first look into the behind-the-scenes world of VAIO product development, and it was truly fascinating. I was impressed by how durable the products are, passing a wide range of rigorous quality tests despite their precision. It made me realize that the ability to use them reliably anytime, anywhere is no accident, it’s the result of the team's relentless effort. I was genuinely inspired by their dedication and the high standards they bring to manufacturing.

About VAIO quality testing
VAIO pursues careful manufacturing at its headquarters factory in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture, with the desire for customers to use their favorite PC with affection for a long time .
In particular, mobile PCs undergo VAIO's own rigorous quality tests covering dozens of items to prove their robustness and reliability so that they can be carried and used anywhere with peace of mind.
These test items are constantly evolving based on customer feedback.
The episode that has been made into a manga this time
is the story of how a new quality test was developed for a situation that had never occurred in the business world before and was never even considered.

Manga 2
Development of an unprecedented VAIO Vision+ cover stand
Comment from the Manga Artist:
After learning the story of how the VAIO Vision+ cover was developed, when I picked up the product, I felt that the developers' uncompromising passion was put into its stylish design and easy-to-assemble structure! I think that even tools that we use every day can become even more loved when we learn the story behind them. I hope that this comic will convey at least a little of their appeal and that the VAIO Vision+ and the cover will become some of your favorite tools.

His hand-drawn illustrations have a warm, friendly feel to them.
He is good at expressing the message he wants to convey in easy-to-understand ways through illustrations and manga.
He works on a wide range of projects for individuals and companies, from one-point illustrations to event flyers, manga introducing shops and how people met, and even synopses for podcasts.
The refined beauty of VAIO products is born from the pursuit of functional beauty in every detail.
We also pay particular attention to providing a comfortable feel so that users can dramatically increase their productivity.
This design philosophy is reflected not only in the body of the VAIO Vision+, the world's lightest* 14.0-inch mobile display, but also in its cover stand.
The manga tells the story of how the current cover stand design was decided upon after countless prototypes in order to achieve the ease of use of a "top and bottom dual screen."
*For mobile displays with a screen size of 14.0 inches or wider. As of June 14, 2024, according to research by Stella Associe.
